Weak ventilation

Looks nice but poor ventilation. This units max cfm is 350 for a 36 inch stove/ oven. Should be twice that to move the heat and smells out of the house. Also very loud.

Our contractor installed the hood with ease (no issues). It's been working fine. I like the control selection buttons of low, medium, high. I had read that other customers commented about the noise. It's a little loud but overall satisfied with the purchase.

Love this new addition to the kitchen. At first I thought I would need to return but the contractor installed ducting but neglected to connect it to electricity - go figure! In any event once we got that sorted it worked fine although I am now going to call the appliance person to check it out because I see some parts in the box and I am not sure if they also should have been installed. I took off one star because the only way to turn it off is by hitting the auto off button after you put it on. This turns it off in 15 minutes not immediately. If you want to cook for an hour you have to rememeber after the hour to hit the off button which is fine but it won't turn it off immediately it will only go off after 15 minutes. Would have been nice to have the instant off button in addition to the timed delay.

3 damaged, one not.

The actual product installed works and looks great. The problem was that we had the first hood installed in our new home that had a deep scratch on the front of the hood. GE ordered a replacement but the hood sent to us had a large dent o the top of the hood. GE sent a 2nd replacement that was also damaged. We finally received a fourth hood that was not damaged. It's taken almost 2 months to get a proper hood.

The finish is hard to keep clean, much harder than expected. Power is adequate but I have to limit how many eyelets I have turned on my stove before the hood is overwhelmed and cannot keep up. But my biggest complaint by far is the blower... My home was built in 2022 with all new appliances, including this one. By the end of 2023 the blower died. Would have thought this to be a fluke, except that I'm hearing story after story of the blower failing after a year or two. Of all the places I've lived for 10 years or more I've never had to replace a blower on a range hood. And the icing on the cake: the costs of replacing a blower is as much as buying a new range hood from another manufacturer.

I purchased a new home so that I would have a safe place to take care of my elderly parents. I selected this oven hood for the house. This oven hood has not worked since it was installed in the home. I have contacted the builder, the electrician and the GE and no one wants to take responsibility for the oven hood. The hood is dented on the side and it does not work properly. They are leaving me with the problem. The GE representative screamed at me and basically said it was my problem. The customer service is very poor. I would have done

product not good. Fan sound changed after 2-3 months. The lights under the vent hood gone in 3 months period. Do you think every 3 month we need to renewal it. This is a replacement for the exact same one that was less than 4 yrs old. That one was deemed unrepairable. Funny how my husband noticed it was a loose wire after it was taken down. After getting 3 different quote from customerservice, each higher than the last one. I finally had to purchase a new one at the highest price because they wouldn't honor the 1st quote. Sure hope this one lasts longer than 4 yrs. Will never buy another GE appliance again

You've got choices. This shouldn't be one of them. The hood is weak, rattles loudly when turning off, and just isn't anywhere near the best choice at any price range other than "free". The only thing it has going for it is that it isn't uglier than other hoods.
